		<description>Yeah, the last thing the University and the surrounding area needs is more cars.  

I wonder how large of an impact the purple line would have on the percentage of University commuters driving.  Obviously, it would be significant.  

I think an interesting situation might arise, however, if the Purple Line is able to decrease traffic on the Beltway significantly -- particularly during rush hour.  A negative response might result, wherein the number of cars using the Beltway would jump back up in response to less traffic.  This response should still result in significantly fewer cars using the Beltway compared to the present, but I think it&#039;s something to consider when making projections on traffic.</description>
