Opportunities exist for mixed use development on WMATA's property and the industrial property located between the station and the airport. See the Rethink College Park story fron the fall of 2007 ("Aviation Plaza” Proposed For TDOZ Warehouse Area.) The NOAA project, 70% built, but currently in a multi-year bankruptcy limbo, includes a parking structure. Otherwise, structured parking is called for in the plan, after additional development makes it feasible to pay for public parking structures. You're going to have all those workers who have to drive to eat and shop. I'm surprised they aren't taking advantage of College Park Metro's TOD characteristics. It's essentially being built as a suburban sprawl office park void of any retail whatsoever within walking distance to transit. How has this been missed by the developers?
