So, the issue of vehicle traffic will indeed be important as some campus corridors will have to be temporarily or permanently closed. Until the purple line opens, I think many commuters will have to allow extra time to get to campus. According to the university's campus construction map, Lot 19 (located by the intersection of Adelphi Road and Campus Drive) is being expanded and will be finished by September. Although I normally wouldn't favor expanded parking, this is probably a good temporary move in anticipation of the headache that could be experienced during construction (assuming of course that the Purple Line does get the green light). Rockcastle states that construction on campus will probably last 18 to 24 months.
