Thanks for the update. This just further highlights the problem with college park. Everything new and old is on rt 1. College Park is too linear – cannot build a good college town unless there are contiguous walking blocks, and preferably not involving the crossing of a major road such as the rt.

Would be nice to raze everything on Knox, guillford and harwick and start over (esp the cp shopping center). Unfortunately it will never happen. Dr loh has a nice goal of creating a top 20 college town but simply cleaning up rt 1, including east campus, won’t suffice. That may just get CP out of cellar..,

Does anyone know what’s going on with Domain at College Park and the other luxury apartment building in the Knox Box area? They received all of the approvals. Are they still waiting on financing or something?

The proposed Domain apatments (facing the west Campus Drive roundabout)is still moving to construction. A second project, Mosaic at Turtle Creek (hidden away west of Mowatt Drive) is a stalled project.

Another point of interest is that Park & Planning is starting a process of looking at the local zoning at the proposed County Purple Line stations. The west Campus Drive Purple Line station is the only College Park station that is not part of or largely controlled by the University of Maryland.
