Maybe the credit freeze is finally thawing a bit. The StarView Plaza will hold a ground breaking ceremony Monday Dec 14th at 11:30am.I wonder if somebody kept the pole from the Starlite? Good times.

  1. Personally I think the return of the Terrapin Taco House would add more to the community than another student housing complex.

    Question: By making these housing units unavailable to non-student residents of PG County, are any fair housing laws being violated?

  2. The state and the county have authorized an approximately $8,000 an apartment unit construction tax break for student housing. If non-students are rented to, the tax break is lost and the tax must be paid. The off-campus apartments are merely in place of building on-campus. The tax break is largely under the control of the University, as the University can choose up front who gets the construction tax credit.
